The Jai Tulunad R. Odipu Unit organised the Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka program at Shree Mahalingeshwara Mahaganapathi Temple, Marpalli, Udupi, on 17 February 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The event aimed to spread awareness of the Tulu script among common people and encourage its preservation. Leading the sessions were Tulu script teachers Santhosh N. S. Katpady, President of Odipu Unit, Supriya Akhilesh Devadiga Bailoor, Organising Secretary, and Bharathi Marpalli, Tulu Script Teacher and member of Odipu Unit. Their guidance inspired participants to engage with the script and appreciate its cultural significance. The program also featured Shivaprasad Devadiga, Vice Organising Secretary, who extended his support to the initiative.
A notable highlight of the event was the submission of a request letter to the temple management, urging them to display the temple’s name in the Tulu script. This step reinforced the importance of promoting the language in public spaces and strengthening its visibility in everyday life. The gathering reflected the collective commitment of Jai Tulunad Odipu Unit to safeguard and promote the Tulu script, ensuring its legacy continues for generations to come.
