Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka’ Campaign Held Successfully at Tarabari Jumadi-Bunta Daivasthana

KENJAR | APRIL 11, 2026:

In a significant move to revive regional heritage, the Jai Tulunad (R.) Kudla Unit organized a special Tulu script awareness program titled ‘Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka’ (Come, write your name in Tulu script) at the Tarabari Jumadi-Bunta Daivasthana, Kenjar, on Friday, April 10.

The initiative was strategically timed to coincide with the annual religious festivities at the shrine, ensuring maximum outreach. Devotees and visitors, arriving in large numbers for the rituals, were drawn to the stall where they had the unique opportunity to see their names transcribed into the traditional Tulu script.

The campaign witnessed a surge of enthusiasm, particularly among the youth and elders alike, who expressed delight in witnessing the visual form of their mother tongue. Organizers noted that such grassroots initiatives are vital for the preservation and promotion of Tulu culture in the modern era. The public widely lauded the effort, calling it a "meaningful step" toward official recognition of the script.

The program’s success was spearheaded by a dedicated team of activists and instructors:

Shilpashree Tuluvedi (Tulu Script Instructor, Jai Tulunad Kudla Unit),

Poornima Shettigar (Joint Secretary, Jai Tulunad Central Committee),

Sharath Raj Alankar (General Secretary, Jai Tulunad Kudla Unit),

Akshith Kenjar (Organizing Secretary, Jai Tulunad Kudla Unit)

The Jai Tulunad organization continues to lead the charge in the ‘Tulu Rajya Bhashe’ movement, with this campaign serving as yet another milestone in their ongoing efforts to integrate the script into daily public life.
