“Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” Initiative Promotes Tulu Script Awareness in Udupi
An awareness program titled “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” was successfully organised by Jai Tulunad (R.), Odipu Unit, on January 6, 2026, at Kadekar Mutt, Udupi, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness of the Tulu script among the general public and encourage its use in everyday life. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from attendees who showed keen interest in learning to write their names in the Tulu script. Renowned Tulu script instructors Santhosh N. S. Katapady, Susheela Jayakar Kodavoor, Shilpa Keshav Kodavoor, and Pragathi S. Manipal guided the participants, offering hands-on learning and insights into the script's significance and structure.
Santhosh N. S. Katapady, President of Jai Tulunad (R.), Odipu Unit, and Pragathi S. Manipal, Executive Committee Member, both actively contributed to the program's success in their dual roles as organisers and Tulu script teachers. Supriya Akhilesh Devadiga Bailoor, Organising Secretary, was also present. Odipu unit members Supreetha Puthran Malpe, Sandhya Devadiga Vadabhandeshwara, and Riya Kodavoor were present and actively participated in the program. The program marked a significant step toward preserving and promoting Tulu's rich linguistic heritage, inspiring community members to reconnect with their cultural roots.
