SURATHKAL — In a vibrant push to preserve and promote indigenous scripts, the Karavali Seva Pratishthana (Regd.), Surathkal hosted a unique cultural initiative during its Deepavali Festival celebrations. 

The event featured a dedicated session where participants learned to write their names using the traditional Bale Tulu script, organized in active collaboration with the Jai Tulunad (Regd.) association.

The interactive workshop was led by prominent cultural activists and office-bearers, including Udaya Poojari Taripaadi Guthu (President, Jai Tulunad Regd.), Kiran Tuluve (Founding Committee Member & Tulu Script Teacher), Latha Dimpal (Mangalore Unit Secretary), alongside executive members Sharathraj Alankar and Yashika.

The stall and learning session attracted significant public interest, drawing community members eager to connect with coastal heritage. Among the notable figures in attendance were Mangaluru North Legislative Constituency MLA Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, alongside local civic representatives from the Mangaluru City Corporation and members of the organizing Pratishthana, who lauded the initiative's role in linguistic heritage awareness.
