COMMUNITY RALLIES TO PRESERVE INDIGENOUS HERITAGE: JAI TULUNAD ORGANIZES TULU SCRIPT WORKSHOP IN MUMBAI

MUMBAI — In a major cultural preservation initiative, Jai Tulunad (Mumbai Zone) successfully hosted a specialized workshop titled "Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka" (Come, Let's Write Our Names in the Tulu Script).

Organized under the active execution of the Shree Sainath Mithra Mandali, the workshop aimed to revive and popularize the traditional, centuries-old script of the Tulu language among urban diaspora communities.

The intensive instructional program commenced at 10:00 AM at the Bharath Bhoir Sabhagruha in Dombivli (West). The venue saw an enthusiastic turnout of community members, language enthusiasts, and cultural activists eager to connect with their regional roots.

The workshop provided hands-on, practical guidance to participants, taking them through the fundamental strokes, vowels, and consonants of the indigenous Tulu alphabet. Veteran educators and community leaders spearheaded the sessions, emphasizing that learning to write the language is a vital first step in preventing its erosion in fast-paced metropolitan environments.

Attendees of all ages engaged actively with the curriculum. "Preserving our unique script is a duty we owe to the next generation," remarked one of the lead coordinators during the training session. "Bringing this initiative to the Mumbai zone allows expatriate families to maintain an authentic linguistic link to their ancestral homeland."

Jai Tulunad continues to leverage digital platforms and grassroots workshops to advocate for the official recognition and everyday usage of the Tulu script.

Organizer Chinmay, along with Shree Sainath Mithra Mandali's office bearers and members, including Shilpa Santhosh Shetty, Tulu script teacher Shashikala Y. Bangera, and Manjunath Shetty, were present at the event.
