Free Tulu Script Workshop Held at Government High School in Badaga Ekkaru
Mangaluru: A free Tulu script learning workshop was launched at Government High School, Badaga Ekkaru, in Mangaluru North, as part of the school’s Literary Association activities. The initiative was organised by the Jai Tulunad (R.) Kudla Unit under its “Bale Tulu Lipi Kalpug” (Come, Let’s Learn Tulu Script) campaign to promote awareness and learning of the ancient Tulu script among students.
The initiative comes in the wake of the Karnataka Cabinet’s announcement on September 18 regarding the recognition of Tulu as an additional official language in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The workshop was inaugurated by the school’s headmistress, Indira N. Rao, who lit the ceremonial lamp.
