Jai Tulu Nadu (Reg.) Kudla Unit Tuluvere Aati Event
Under the auspices of the Jai Tulu
Nad (Reg.) kudla unit, an event titled "Aatidonte Telith Nalipuga, Gena Pattonuga" (Smile and dance during Aati, and share knowledge) was successfully held.
* Inauguration: The event was inaugurated by Mr. Swarna Sundar, Chief of Hotel Dinki Dine.
* Presidency: The presidential duties of the event were shouldered by Mr. Ashwath Tuluv, leader of 4 Tulu Nadu organizations.
* Guests of Honor: Several notable dignitaries attended the event, including:
* Corporator of the 8th Ward of Hosabettu, Mrs. Jabeera (along with other local representatives)
* Mrs. Kanti Shetty, former president of the Tulu Academy
* Lion Dr. Naveen Shetty K., Principal of Shankar Adyanthaya College
* Former MLA Mrs. Shakuntala (who participated as a major guest)
* Renowned Tulu actor and prominent leader Mr. Vineesh Kumar, who participated and expressed his deep love and affection for the Tulu language and culture.
Special Attraction: Tuluva from Abroad
Adding immense beauty and grace to the event was a special guest from afar—
Ms. Kylie Rose Stott (Fulbright Nehru Research Scholar from the USA). Despite being from a foreign country, she holds immense love for Tulu Nadu and is actively engaged in researching and working for the development of the Tulu language. Speaking fluently in Tulu, she shared her thoughts and inspired the younger generation—who often hesitate to speak their mother tongue—by emphasizing that Tulu must become an official state language and be included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
Cultural Activities and Competitions:
The event celebrated the language, traditions, and essence of the Aati month. Various cultural competitions were organized for children and elders alike, including:
* Solo and group dance competitions
* Mat weaving (Madal modeyuna)
* Earthen pot making (Kara darpuna)
* Basket weaving (Moode ettuna)
Valedictory Session and Blessings:
The evening valedictory function was graced by Shri Shri Esha Vittala Das Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Kemaru Sandeepani Sadhanashrama, who delivered his blessing message.
* Cultural Director: Mr. Raveesh Parava Padumale, a professor, daiva dancer, and cultural director of the Jai TuluNad (Reg.) organization, managed the proceedings.
* Mr. D. Vedavyas Kamath (MLA for Mangaluru South Legislative Constituency) delivered the keynote address and assured that under the Smart City project, nameplates in the Tulu script would be installed across his constituency.
* Mr. Premanand Shetty (Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation) participated as an honored guest.
* Mr. Kiran Kumar Kodikal (Corporator of the 16th Ward, Bangra Kuloor) participated and assured that similar initiatives would be implemented in his ward.
* Dr. Akash Raj Jain (Scion of the Alupa dynasty and former president of the Tulu Academy) spoke about the depth of Tulu culture.
* Mr. S. R. Bandimar (Editor-in-Chief of Times of Tulu, a renowned Tulu newspaper of Mangaluru) spoke on how the Tulu language and culture have flourished over time.
Speeches and Honors
* Dr. Arun Ullal (District Rajyotsava Awardee and Cultural Thinker) delivered a detailed talk regarding the significance of the month of Aati.
* Mrs. Arpitha Prashanth Shetty Katapadi (Lecturer at Udupi Group of Institutions, Manipal) shared insights comparing the Aati month of ancient times with modern Aati celebrations.
* Other notable attendees who were honored included senior leader Appi Shetty Kinnigoli (who spoke passionately for 40 minutes), Jnanesh Derlakatte (an authority on Tulu wisdom), and various educators promoting Tulu in schools.

* Cultural Performances: Managed by Mr. Naresh Sasihithu, Ms. Swati, and Mrs. Reshma Shetty, who assisted with the Tulu traditional games competition.
