Jai Tulunad (R.) Kasaragod Unit Holds Annual Meeting; New Committee Elected
Kasaragod, September 6, 2026: The annual meeting of the Jai Tulunad (R.) Kasaragod Unit was held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, to review the unit’s activities and discuss its future plans and development.
The meeting was presided over by Praveesh Kulal Beerikunja, President of the unit for the 2025–2026 term. Secretary Harikanth Kasaragod presented a review of the organisation’s journey and activities so far. Members also held detailed discussions on strengthening the unit and expanding its activities in the coming year.
During the meeting, the new committee for the 2026 –2027 term was formed with the following office-bearers: (Since September 2026)
- President: Uttama Urlittadka
- Vice Presidents: Jagannatha Kandattodi and Vinod Prasad Rai Karinje
- Secretary: Krishna Prasad Kidoor
- Treasurer: Harikanth Kasaragod
- Joint Secretaries: Ashwini Rai Karinje and Praveesh Kulal Beerikunja
- Advisor: Kushalakshi V. Kulal Kanvathirtha
Renowned writer and former president of the Jai Tulunad Kasaragod unit, Kushalakshi Kulal Kanwathirtha, delivered the blessing address and conveyed her best wishes to the newly formed committee.
The meeting also discussed several upcoming initiatives of the Kasaragod unit. Special attention was given to preparations for the Tulu Script Day celebration scheduled for October 10 and the proposed installation of nameplates written in the Tulu script at Madhur Temple.
The newly appointed committee expressed its commitment to further strengthening Tulu language, script and cultural activities in the Kasaragod region.
