Jai Tulunad (R.) Kudla Unit Conducts Successful Online Classes to Promote Tulu Script (Lipi)

MANGALURU: In a significant push toward preserving the region's rich linguistic heritage, the Jai Tulunad (Regd.) Kudla Unit has successfully completed eight online batches dedicated to teaching the traditional Tulu script (Tulu Lipi).

Launched on June 27, 2025, the digital initiative witnessed an enthusiastic response, drawing a diverse group of Tulu enthusiasts eager to learn and master their mother tongue's native script.

The online classes, held daily, were steered by a dedicated panel of instructors committed to reviving the script. The driving force behind the teaching sessions includes prominent educators and volunteers: Rajashree Chandrashekhar, Chaithra Shetty, Kiran Tuluve, Nishil Shetty Beladi, Shashikala Madikeri, Ashwitha, Rohini P Shetty Manel, Chithrakshi Theggu, Shilpashri Tuluvedi, and Sharath Raj Alankar.

Organizers noted that these virtual classes have broken geographical barriers, allowing participants from various backgrounds to connect with their cultural roots from the comfort of their homes. The Jai Tulunad Kudla Unit continues to spearhead grassroots movements aimed at securing official recognition and widespread usage for the Tulu language and script.
