MANGALURU (KUDLA) — In a concerted effort to safeguard regional heritage, the Jai TuluNad (Regd.) organization spearheaded a high-profile Tulu writing campaign on October 16, 2021. The initiative brought together language advocates to rally for official state recognition of the Tulu language and the active preservation of its native script.

The demonstration underscored two primary demands: securing official state status for Tulu and mandating the use of the Tulu script on commercial shop nameplates and signboards across the region. Organizers emphasized that integrating the script into daily public visibility is vital to preventing cultural erosion.

The campaign drew strong leadership and participation from prominent community figures, including Rakshith Raj, Niranjan Karkera, and Vinay Rai Kudla. They were joined by active members Manish Kumar, Puneeth Kumar Boloor, Vijeth, Deviprasad, and Pavan Kotian, whose collective mobilization galvanized public support for the linguistic cause.

Cultural advocates view the 2021 campaign as a defining milestone in the ongoing grassroots movement to secure constitutional and regional safeguards for the Tulu-speaking community.
