Keeping Tulu Alive Through Tulu Lipi Learning at Mattu

Jai Tulunad (R.) Odipu Unit conducted the “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” program on 14 March 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Shree Rama Bhajana Mandali, Mattu, Udupi. The program aimed to raise awareness of the Tulu script and encourage people to learn to read and write in Tulu, thereby strengthening cultural identity and language preservation efforts. Participants were actively engaged in learning to write their names in the Tulu script, sparking public interest and enthusiasm. The session was led by Tulu script teachers Santhosh N. S. Katpady, President; Shilpa Keshav Kodavoor, Tulu Script Incharge; and Sharath Raj Alankar, Secretary of Jai Tulunad (R.), Kudla Unit. Other members present included Aishwarya Shetty Innanje, Vice Secretary; Manish Kumar, a member of the Kudla Unit; and Riya Kodavoor, a member of the Odipu Unit, who supported the program and contributed to its success.
