Promoting Tulu Script at the Birthplace of S. U. Paniyadi

Jai Tulunad (R.) Odipu Unit successfully conducted the “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” program on 24 February 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Shree Laxmi Anantapadmanabha Temple, Paniyadi, Odipu. The initiative aimed to promote Tulu script literacy among the public and encourage people to learn to read and write in Tulu, contributing to the broader mission of preserving the language and advancing its recognition as an official language. Participants were guided to write their names in the Tulu script, creating awareness and interest in the language. The program held added significance as Paniyadi is the birthplace of eminent Tulu author, researcher, journalist, and activist S. U. Paniyadi, making it a culturally meaningful venue for the event. The session was led by Tulu script teachers Santhosh N. S. Katpady, President; Shilpa Keshav Kodavoor, Tulu Script Incharge; and Susheela Jayakar Kodavoor, Vice President of Jai Tulunad (R.) Central Committee. Other members present included Supriya Akhilesh Devadiga, Organising Secretary; Ambika Rao Kannarpady, Treasurer; and Aishwarya Shetty Innanje, Vice Secretary, who actively supported the program.
