Tulu Cultural Outreach and Tulu Lipi Awareness Program at Yelluru

Jai Tulunad (R.) Odipu Unit conducted the “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” program on 19 April 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Shree Mahathobhara Vishweshwara Temple, Yelluru, Udupi. The program aimed to promote awareness of the Tulu script and encourage the public to learn to read and write in Tulu, contributing to the preservation of the language and its cultural identity. The “Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka” initiative encourages people to learn to write their names in Tulu script, thereby fostering interest in the language and strengthening their connection to Tulu culture. Participants actively engaged in the activity and showed keen enthusiasm for learning the script. Along with the program, the Tuluvere Kaalakonde calendar was also made available, receiving a positive response from the public.

The session was led by Tulu script teachers Santhosh N. S. Katpady, President; Aishwarya Shetty Innanje, Vice Secretary; Sharath Devadiga Kodavoor, Vice President of Jai Tulunad (R.), Bangalore Unit; and Prashanth Kunjoor, social media In-charge of Odipu Unit, who guided the participants effectively. Other members present included Pradeep Shetty, Vice Secretary of Bangalore Unit; Dr Nithish S. A. Korangrapady, Vice Treasurer; Yashwitha Poojary Yelluru; and Akshatha S. Poojary Admaru, members of Odipu unit, who extended their support for the successful conduct of the program.
