As part of the ongoing Tulu Script Awareness Campaign, the Bantwal Unit of Jai Tulunad (R.) submitted a petition seeking the installation of a nameboard in Tulu script during the annual Kola ceremony held at the Kattemar Mantradevate shrine near Kalladka.

Jai Tulunad (R.), an organisation dedicated to educating the younger generation about the history of the Tulu language and script, has been creating awareness by conducting Tulu script classes for over 30,000 people. On this occasion, a formal request was submitted through the shrine’s Dharmadarshi (caretaker), Manoj Kattemar, appealing for the installation of a Tulu script nameboard at the Kattemar shrine.

Those present at the event included Kishor Poojary, President of the Jai Tulunad Bantwal Unit; Poornima Bantwal, President of Leleleaga, the cultural wing of Jai Tulunad; Pratheek Tuluve, Vice President of the Bantwal Unit; Ranjitha, Joint Secretary; Raksha, Treasurer; Trishali, Organising Secretary; Janardhan Perne, Supervisor of Leleleaga Bantwal; member Dheeraj; and Executive Committee Member Manjunath, among others.

The initiative reflects Jai Tulunad’s continued efforts to promote and preserve the Tulu language and script across Tulunadu.
