Tulu Script Campaign ‘Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka’ Receives Overwhelming Response in State Capital

The cultural landscape of Bengaluru witnessed a vibrant display of coastal heritage as the "Karavali Janapada" (Coastal Folklore) splendor was celebrated with grandeur on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Organized by the Karnataka Janapada Parishat (R.), the event served as a prestigious stage for the "Bale Tulu Lipit Pudar Bareka" (Come, Let's Write Names in Tulu Script) initiative.

The script-writing campaign was spearheaded by the Jai Tulunad (R.) Bengaluru Unit in active collaboration with the Parishat. The event saw a massive influx of Bengaluru-based Tuluvas who participated enthusiastically, cutting across lines of caste and language to support the preservation of their linguistic roots.

The workshop was conducted under the expert tutelage of Anudeep Shetty, Director of the Tulu Script Committee, and Sahaja Shetty, a prominent member of the forum. The logistical success of the program was attributed to the efforts of Secretary Akshay Acharya and Joint Organizing Secretary Rachana Shetty.

The executive committee played a pivotal role in the event's execution, with active participation from Viji Kapikad, Sanath Amin (Bengaluru Tuluvas), and Radhika Hegde.

The campaign reached its successful conclusion in the presence of distinguished members including Chief Advisor Nidhish Shetty, Treasurer Ranjan S.Y., and Executive Committee members Prashanth Kumar and Dhavala, all of whom stood witness to the historic gathering of Tulu script enthusiasts in the city.

The success of the event marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to popularize the Tulu script among the younger generation and the diaspora living outside the coastal districts.
